German Speaking Financial Administrator (12 month FTC)

The FA has the primary task of managing clients administrative matters to include: coding and posting invoices and expenses claims; co-ordinating the collation of information; responding to day-to-day queries; preparing payment runs; maintaining supplier details; managing receivables ledgers and other such matters. This requires some technical knowledge, strong attention to detail, an ability to organise a workload without relying on others for regular guidance and direction and a high degree of organisation and inter-personal skills.

Role: German Speaking Financial Administrator (FA)

Reports to: Client Managers, Management Accountants (MA)

Department: Global Business Services

Duration: 12 month FTC

Location: 16 Great Queen Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2B 5AH

The more detailed services completed by the FA include completion of supplier reconciliations, treasury management, liaison with banks, service providers and other third parties, assistance to the MA’s with collation and posting of accounting records, accurate and timely filing of financial information and the resolution of any review points raised as part of our quality control process, and provision of these deliverables in an accurate and timely way. The role requires strong relationships to be built with clients at all levels and of differing cultures and personalities.  Communication within the wider BRGBS team is also key to successful completion of the FA role.

The role requires significant interaction with both the BRGBS team and client staff.  In the BRGBS team there will be interaction with MAs who may work on the same clients and Client Managers who will review key work completed before it is sent.  A good FA will communicate with these individuals on a regular basis to be sure that information is shared but will take personal responsibility for the work they are completing rather than rely on these other individuals. Contacts at the client will range from purchase ledger clerks to controller level staff. As such the FA will need to be confident in communicating with people in clear and concise written English, in both technical and non-technical terminology, and more importantly in clear spoken terms.

In addition to fluent English, it would be essential that candidates speak German at a business level.

All work that the FA completes should be done with reference to the Blick Rothenberg/ BRGBS values, commitments to client service and the level 1 competencies.

A good FA will understand the client’s business and pro-actively follow up recurring issues. They will monitor the purchase ledger and sales ledger on an on-going basis and deal with issues before they become significant. They will keep in mind issues raised in management letters and will ensure that these are chased up, either by themselves or others as appropriate.

Each FA is assigned a portfolio of work. However it is inevitable there will be times when clients will be demanding in their requirements and as a client focused business we will always try and react to this. An FA should be able to deal with such requirements on their own portfolio in a timely manner, identify and highlight when they need assistance and be prepared to assist others throughout the company.

An outstanding FA should be seeking to develop their interpersonal and technical skills where they consistently demonstrate a willingness to deliver excellent client service and support the Client Managers in managing the client and third party relationships.

Each FA will report to several Client Managers in relation to their portfolio of clients and to their Line Manager on all other matters.  An FA's development will be the responsibility of their Line Manager, with the development of the FAs as a collective overseen by a Partner.

In addition to a competitive remuneration package, Blick Rothenberg operates a Flexible Hours of Work Policy which provides people with the freedom to organise their working day around their commitments outside work.
