Xerimis provides customised packaging and distribution for clinical supplies through a range of bespoke solutions from stand-alone services to complete management of clinical supply requirements. Customers include pharmaceutical, biotechnology and clinical research organisations.

What was the challenge?

Xerimis wanted to grow its UK and European customer bases and looked to set up a UK distribution facility for clinical supplies which could support the import and export of goods between Europe and the US.

How did Blick Rothenberg help?

Blick Rothenberg advised on Xerimis’ trading model and on the VAT treatment for the movement of goods into and out of Europe, and between European Union countries. We managed on-going payroll compliance, advised on capital allowance claims, and provided year-end financial statements preparation, audit and corporation tax compliance services.

Alongside this, we offered advice on employment-related matters from contractual advice to more commercial advice on benefits and structuring attractive packages.

What was the result?

Xerimis found a suitable UK site and has set up a distribution facility. Management has been able to focus on the supply chain and growing Xerimis’ UK and European business while Blick Rothenberg took care of the UK company’s tax and accounting compliance needs and helped to implement a trading model that worked from a commercial, operational and tax perspective.

Ann Flanigan, VP of Finance for Xerimis, has commented that, “Going to Blick Rothenberg made our initial set-up in the UK much simpler than it would have been. They were able to advise us on a range of issues around employing people, shipping costs and generally operating a business. Having one team to provide that range of expertise really helped us to focus on establishing and growing a successful business.”
